El dúo electrónico de Carolina del Norte “Sylvan Esso”, encabezan el cartel del festival de música de este año “Make Music Pasadena”. Se han adherido en el último momento y actuará tan sólo una semana después del lanzamiento de su debut homónimo LP, muy elogiado por las críticas. Actúan el próximo sábado a las 3:00 de la tarde en el Playhouse District Eclectic Stage.
“Sylvan Esso” es una colaboración entre la cantante Amelia Meath y el músico electrónico Nick Sanborn. El dúo comenzó tan sólo hace un año y juntos hacen un electro pop interesante, en la que se mezclan una voz cálida, instrumentos folk y arreglos electrónicos. El resultado, una música envolvente, elegante, cándida y seductora. Algunos lo definen como “el debut más embriagador de 2014”.

Sylvan Esso (the Durham, N.C.) based electronic duo has been announced as the special guest headliner for Make Music Pasadena, Saturday, June 7, performing on the Playhouse District Eclectic Stage. This exciting addition to the free festival comes just a week after the release of their highly praised self-titled debut LP on New York’s Partisan Records.
Sylvan Esso is a collaboration between vocalist Amelia Meath and electronic musician Nick Sanborn. Meath’s powerful voice is front and center, unjoined by fellow harmonizers as it is in her folk group, Mountain Man. Sanborn, who plays bass in the genre-destroying Megafaun, creates intricate, pulsing grooves for Meath’s voice to inhabit. “Together, Meath and Sanborn make pop music with real potential to endure: Equally bright and dark, smart and seductive, it sets a high bar for the title of 2014’s most intoxicating debut.”
